For the second year in a row, the Oasis Academy baseball team played at Greater Nevada Field, home of the Reno Aces. The team continued their success from last year and are now 2-0 at the field.
After a beautiful rendition of the national anthem from Oasis Academy seventh grade student Janie Irving, the first pitch was thrown at 7 p.m. The Bighorns jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead in the first inning.
Pitching proved to be a strength of the Bighorns, holding their opponents, the Pershing County Mustangs scoreless. The Bighorns won the game 8-0.
“It was an awesome experience and a great night of baseball,” said Sean McNabb, Oasis Academy Baseball Coach. “I am very proud of how our boys played. I am forever grateful to all the Reno Aces, Pershing County, and Oasis Academy families and staff that make opportunities like this a reality.”
