Dear families,
We were informed that there will be a viewing and service for Isabella, Ximena, and Naiara Taylor on Wednesday, June 21st at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The viewing is at 9:30 am with the service at 11 am. The address is 450 North Taylor Street. Counseling services are available for families during this difficult time. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Counselors Andy Lenon (alenon@oanv.org), Shelley Kelly (skelly@oanv.org) or Gabi Madraso (gmadraso@oanv.org).

The middle and high school cross country preseason is set to begin on Wednesday, June 21 at 5:30 pm. All athletes interested in participating in these workouts should meet at Venturacci Park, near the entrance sign. No experience needed. Just bring a water bottle and good shoes and we will see you there! For any questions please contact Coach Krista (ksmith@oanv.org).

Oasis Academy Families,
It is with much sadness that we write this email. Last night members of our community tragically passed away in a house fire. Please know that we will have counseling available at the school on Friday, June 16 from 9:00-12:00 (or as long as necessary) should you or your child want to talk about this. We understand that grief is not something that can be dealt with overnight so if your child needs anything over the summer months please reach out to our counseling team via email alenon@oanv.org (Andy Lenon), skelly@oanv.org (Shelley Kelly), and gmadraso@oanv.org (Gabi Madraso).

Congratulations to the WNC Spring 2023 Dean's List students! https://wnc.edu/news/deans-list-spring-2023.php

At the end of the year math students participated in the annual Trig-star competition. For Oasis, Michele, Juliana, and An finished in the top three and all received cash prizes. The competition is sponsored by the National Society of Professional Surveyors. #poweroflearning

Third graders took a walking field trip to the Churchill County Museum in April to wrap up their studies of Nevada settlers. Thank you to the museum staff for giving an amazing presentation on native and immigrant groups that settled and defined Nevada. Students also participated in an artifact scavenger hunt as they explored the exhibits! #churchillcounty #museum #fallon #nevada

Happy birthday to teacher, coach, AND Oasis alumni Mr. David Springfield! Wishing you a fun-filled birthday. It has been wonderful to have you go from former student to now teaching the Bighorn Herd.

In April, Kinders read a book called How Bread Comes to Life. The students got to use their senses to smell, touch and see the process of how to make the bread. After that, they all got to taste their efforts with sweet homemade bread!

Mr. Party People President himself has a birthday today! Counselor Andy Lenon thank you for the compassion and mentorship you show the Bighorns everyday. Wishing you a birthday that lives up to your title.

Don't forget about Summer Reading and Math!
Reading-
Students going into grades 1-2 will complete the reading log sent home by their teachers and return it on the first day of school.
Students going into grades 3-10 will complete at least one book review. This will count as 10% of their semester one grade and must be done by the first day of school (Aug. 21)
Math-
Students going into grades 1-10 will have summer math. Their current homeroom teacher will email the details. Some grades may be required to do work on line at IXL or CERT and some grades may have a small packet to complete and return. For students going into grade 3-10 this will count as 10% of their grade so make sure you watch for that email.

After 6 hours of camp each day the basketball team is still game for fun and team building activities. #bighornbasketball #team #bighornblue
