Second graders researched American symbols last week. The students then created slide shows and presented their findings to parents.
The first graders are learning about biomimicry. They had a challenge to design a prototype helmet, inspired by a turtle, to protect a child while riding his/her bicycle. #biomimicry

Kindergarten classes made bread! After reading about the process of making bread, the students went through it. From learning more about growing the wheat and to the threshing process to hands-on kneading it and finally baking the bread!
Next week Middle School Student Council is hosting Spirit Week! Check out the dress-up days scheduled for the week.
Oasis students have organized a community clean-up project! The project is lead by Ariana Wolf and Kaitlyn Hert as part of the LEAD-On program. The two day clean-up will take part at Oat's Park the next two Fridays. Volunteers will meet at Oats Park from noon to 4 p.m. and be provided with trash bags, latex gloves, and refreshments. Additionally the first 25 volunteers will receive a free t-shirt for helping.
In honor of military families and their children we will be celebrating Purple Up! Day for Military Kid tomorrow (4/13). Students are encouraged to dress-up in PURPLE! There is no cost for this dress-up day. We appreciate all our military families and students do. #purpleup
Oasis hosted a league golf match yesterday at the Fallon Golf course with 9 schools in attendance. Trevor Halloran won 1st place, and Connor Oceguera took 7th! Thank you Marty Davis and the entire Fallon Golf course staff for helping put on an awesome tourney!! #golf #community
Two Bighorn students competed in the Walker River Bow Shoot on Sunday, April 10. Bailey Peixoto finished first and Ellie Peixoto finished second in their age division. Congratulations girls! #archery #bullseye
Graduation is set for May 26 at 6 p.m. This year’s ceremony will be an in-person and outdoor event in front of Pinon Hall. Tickets are not necessary and everyone is welcome. Students can decorate their graduation caps. Contact rtisdale@oasisacademyfallon.us to learn more.

Last week first graders presented their Animal Research Slideshows to the second grade classes. The students did an amazing job researching and putting together fun and engaging presentations. Great job first graders!
Third grade classes walked to the Churchill County Museum last week. The students explored the museum to gain a better understanding of immigrants and the impact they had on Nevada. Thank you Churchill County Museum for having us!
